YGG Play, the game publishing arm of Yield Guild Games (YGG), officially launched Ragnarok Breaker on Thursday, June 11, 2026, at 2:00 PM SGT. The web-based, wave-survival roguelike auto-shooter is developed by Planetarium Labs and serves as the second official intellectual property expansion of the Nine Chronicles ecosystem.
According to YGG Play, the title secured over 3,000 pre-registrations prior to launch, with 58% of those registrations originating from referrals. The game is accessible via web browsers.
Game Mechanics and Architecture
Ragnarok Breaker utilizes a progression framework built around five distinct “Meta Tags”—Shot, Zone, Life, Bomb, and Flow—that define specific combat styles. Character builds are determined by real-time transactions within an in-game Wave Shop rather than fixed character classes, allowing players to establish distinct build identities during live sessions.
Items within the game progress through four structural tiers up to “Legendary Crowns” modeled after Norse artifacts, including Mjolnir and Gungnir, which modify build functionality. The title incorporates 42 collectible pets, enabling players to deploy up to 10 simultaneously as a secondary layer of synergy. The game features two endgame modes at launch: an endless player-versus-environment (PVE) system called Valhalla Trials, and a score-based player-versus-player (PVP) tournament called League, which distributes Ruby Coin rewards.
Technical Infrastructure and Publishing Roles
The title is the first game built entirely on Verse8, an artificial intelligence-native game creation infrastructure developed by Planetarium Labs. The deployment follows an initiative earlier this year where YGG Play and Verse8 co-hosted the Casual Degen track of BuidlHack 2026 at Korea Buidl Week, resulting in prototype submissions that remain under publication review.
“By pairing our Verse8 AI-native infrastructure with YGG’s distribution strength, we can rapidly scale polished Web3 experiences to meet this demand,” Planetarium Labs CEO JC Kim said in a statement.
As the publishing partner, YGG Play provides user acquisition, go-to-market strategies, and marketing infrastructure through the YGG Play Launchpad, which established the “Casual Degen” category of casual Web3 titles. Local digital asset platforms and licensed cryptocurrency exchanges in the Philippines, including Coins.ph and Bybit, previously integrated support for YGG ecosystem assets and related network applications.
Guild History and Ecosystem Data
The game targets organized play and gaming guilds that previously participated in the Nine Chronicles ecosystem, including Allgud, NFTxStreet, Synergy Guild, Sando, and AxU. Historical company data shows that Nine Chronicles recorded 11,723 quest sign-ups during Season 6 of the YGG Guild Advancement Program (GAP), which concluded its 10-season run in August 2025.
“YGG Play is built as a launchpad where developers keep full ownership of their IP, which flips the traditional publisher model on its head,” YGG co-founder Gabby Dizon said.
